Booking With Confidence
CAN YOU TRUST US?
We hope that if you have made it to this page maybe it is because you like what you see and are seriously thinking about coming to stay in one of our apartments ?.
But let's be honest. It is a bit of a scary prospect, travelling halfway across Europe - or even across the world — on the strength of some pretty prose and even prettier pictures.
You would not be the first to have read in the press about holiday scams, and even though they are exceptionally rare occurrences, those who have been caught up in them often want, understandably, to make a lot of noise about it.
So we understand that you might feel a little nervous about entrusting your hard earned holiday to two strangers you do not know from Adam or Eve who live in a small wine producing village in an area you may never have visited before. Put it like that, and who would not?
On this page we tell you a bit more about us and give you (we hope) reasons why you can book with total confidence.
STILL NOT QUITE REASSURED?
You are welcome to give us a call our telephone number is +49 (0)2673 961991. We will be delighted to answer any questions you might have, or just chat about the weather. We do not have staff (as if)!, and apart from our guests nobody lives here but the two of us, so it is always going to be one of us that picks up the phone.
HOW DO WE KNOW YOU ARE REAL?
Well, we live here, all year round; we have done so since the beginning of 2010 and are legally and fiscally resident here. We are listed in the phone book, and our bank accounts and payment accounts are registered to this address. We are registered as an accommodation provider with our local town council, with Google Maps and with the tax office in Rheinland Pfalz.
CAN WE FIND OUT MORE ABOUT YOU?
Yes, I (Maria) always wanted to own a historic building having previously worked as an interior designer in London for various well-known companies before embarking with my own franchise business then after meeting Michael (my Husband) we purchased our first German property in the Eifel Region two hours drive from the Mosel with the intent renovating the property which was also listed, so over the following three years we made the property into a lovely comfortable retreat and as well as enjoying it ourselves decided to share it with a selection of holiday guests from around the world who were attracted to the area and wanted to stay in a historical property compared to a standard hotel
This started our adventure to permanently relocate to Germany, we had previously visited the Mosel Region on holiday ourselves so when the opportunity arose to purchase the building now known as Zur Alten Weinkelter we could not resist the challenge so in February 2010 the seeds were sown and now ten years on we like to think that Zur Alten Weinkelter has grown into a wonderful place to relax and to enjoy this unique part of Germany
A well as having our own website you will also find us on various, booking portals and publications — we are perfectly open and transparent about who we are!
CAN WE CHECK OUT THAT THE HOUSE EXISTS?
Yes,. Because Zur Alten Weinkelter Ferienapartment's is an official business and place name you will find it for example on Google Maps, or Google Earth.
DO YOU LIST ON OTHER SITES?
Yes, a few. You are happy the search around on any of your preferred sites as well as the most publicised.
DO YOU HAVE A STAR RATING?
No. As an ever-increasing number of other unique and very personal accommodations, we choose not to because what matters to us is not whether we provide a certain facility or how many utensils that will indicate whether you are 3 or 5 stars but whether our accommodation has a soul. And how do you measure that?
WHAT ABOUT REVIEWS?
We never actively request external reviews as we feel it is entirely up to our guest's experience, however, if it is something that you want to tell people about please feel free, also many people write to us after their holiday and we value all their comments and it is wonderful to hear their stories
